Hello, I'm Weasel. My history of being a content creator goes back about 20 years, when I began as an amateur writer on what was at the time called YiffStar, and later rebranded as SoFurry. I wrote dozens of short stories, mostly supernatural thriller and psychological horror things. A lot of it probably is influenced by my love for Donnie Darko, Higurashi, American Psycho, and a variety of games, movies, anime, and other forms of media along those lines. I also love classical literature, particularly Edgar Allan Poe. Writing has always been my strongest skill, and carried me through college.
Around September 2024, I began to learn how to use generative AI to create images and to edit them (inpainting, or polishing them up, at least some). I don't think a lot of people would call it a high-end skill, but to whatever extent you're willing to give credit to it, I got pretty good at doing that, too. Over time, I accumulated over 1,000 X followers of people who seemed to like the generations I put out.
Almost on a whim, I decided, why not combine these skills all into one thing? And so, I created my first visual novel, Hope, or at least a demo of it. Learning Ren'Py as I went, the approximately 1.5-hour-long demo was created in 4 days, with me working on it from wake to sleep and about eight to ten hours a day. I made it completely by myself, utilizing both new ideas and old story elements from the shorts I used to write. I was so incredibly proud of myself, and I'm so happy that, at least up to now, people seem to like it and think it has potential to be a good VN. I have big plans for it, and perhaps I'll make even more visual novels. Maybe this'll be my new thing. UPDATE: Hope FVN is FINISHED! Although it's more of a novella than novel, I have genuinely finished my first solo-project as an FVN creator! I am so, so proud, and I really hope people enjoy the story. I really do think it's great.
On a final note, the use of AI assets in my content is not really out of preference. It's just impossible for me to work solo without them. I'd be perfectly happy not to use them if that were an option, but it is not at this time. I hope for those skeptical of those assets, that you can look past that and try to enjoy what I make.
