Misadventures from Below: A Bartleby Tale

Misadventures from Below is a visual novel that takes place in Hell, and more specifically, Alex Reynard's Bartleby universe. Here, Hell is not the place you expect it to be. It's not the Biblical Hell, it's more of a giant theme park. Pain is converted to pleasure, and every desire has some place to call home down here.

The main character is a young jackal man named Spire, and he has an invisible/imaginary friend named Damon, who turns out to not be so imaginary. Newly-dead souls must give up their hearts within 100 hours upon arrival. Those who don't, cease to exist. Spire isn't sure if he truly does want to live for an eternity and carry the emotional baggage he has, but he's willing to explore the fantasies possible in Hell to see whether he wishes to give up his heart in exchange for eternal life, or if he'd rather vanish and cease to exist.

CONTENT WARNING: This series (the Bartleby Hell universe) is known for being extremely fetish-heavy. However, because of the way the mechanics work in Hell, no one actually dies or feels suffering in the fetishes as they're presented. It's quite the goofy sort of Hell. Nonetheless, you'll see mild pet play, cnc, vore and incest references in the current build of MfB. You also can melt a chocolate bunny into cocoa, so whatever that counts as.

Game contains adult content, including some graphic art, textual descriptions of sex, and adult humor. It will eventually contain explicit images. Backgrounds and character are created with generative AI, and music is made by Suno and MozartAI. Writing is entirely human and created solely by myself; this is a solo project. Created with the knowledge and consent of Alex. Its current form does not have choices or different routes, but I will add a few eventually. Therefore, it's "kinetic" in its current form, but won't remain that later on.
